On Thursday, March 18th, Statewide Abstract will host a free Continuing Legal Education seminar for attorneys via Webex. The seminar, “Understanding a Title Report & How to Clear a Title Report” will take place from 10:00am – 12:00pm. Attendees who complete the entire two hours will receive 2 CLE credits. Attendees will learn how to handle title vesting problems and clearance issues, including mortgages, survey readings, corporate and trust documents, and real estate and estate taxes. The seminar will be presented by Patricia LaPorta, VP of First American Title Insurance and Senior Underwriting Counsel. Patricia brings 20 years of experience to her position as Senior Underwriting Counsel at First American Title Insurance Company. Immediately prior to joining First American Title, Patricia served as Counsel for a full service residential and commercial title insurance company in New York and as Chief Counsel for a title company who provided statewide and national comprehensive title and settlement services. Her responsibility in these positions was to oversee the reading and clearance on title matters for transactions in the New York Metro area.
